Everywhere you look, you will see information and products that center on losing weight. Losing weight can not only be expensive, but confusing as well. Not everyone is a mathematical genius, and it almost seems that this is required for many of the diet plans out there. You have to count calories consumed, and calories burned, weigh food, and so much more.
Here 3 simple things you can do in your life right now to start burning some more fat, and keeping it off too!
1. Change Your Beverages
Take the guesswork out of beverages. You don’t have to figure out how many ounces are in that glass, or how many calories are in that fresh squeezed juice at all. Stick to good, old fashioned water. It has no calories, and you can drink as much of it as you want.
Because you will not be drinking fruit juices, however, you should supplement your diet with a good multivitamin. If you aren’t sure which one to take, ask your doctor or pharmacist to recommend one. Just make sure that they know that you are trying to lose weight so that they can recommend the correct multivitamin for you.
2. Increase Physical Activity
Do more physical activity each day than you are currently doing – without changing anything else. You will lose weight, because you are burning more calories, and you don’t have to count anything.
For example, if you already walk for thirty minutes each day, increase it to an hour, or add a thirty minute exercise class into the mix. This only works if your weight has stayed about the same for a period of time – without a gain or a loss. This means that you are ‘maintaining’ or using the right amount of calories in comparison to the calories that you are consuming, so that you neither gain nor lose weight. If you have been gaining weight, you will also have to cut down on the amount or types of foods you are eating, but this doesn’t have to be confusing either.
3. Consider Food Choices Carefully
You know chips are bad for you. You know you shouldn’t have fried foods. You know you should avoid sweets that contain refined sugars. You don’t have to count calories and make it all difficult; you just have to make better choices.
Of course, you also have to use common sense. For example, a Slimfast has about 190 calories in it. If you drink six of them a day, have two healthy meals, and healthy snacks throughout the day, you will gain weight. The six meal replacement shakes are to blame. Cut it down to one or two. Even ‘diet food’ can cause you to gain weight if you consume too much of it.
